Ascend to the Kingdom originally formed in December 20017 with members Rocky Hensley (Vocals), Alberto Carlesimo (Guitar), Parker Higgins (Bass), and Hayden Cotcher (Drums). The band went on to win their hometown Battle of the Bands in 2009. The following year Ascend to the Kingdom released their first self-titled LP, featuring the singles "Blink of a eye" and "Falling away", featuring Allie Swanson. On August 28th, 2012, Ascension released the four song EP Stories From Home.

On October 30th 2015, Ascension released their second EP Beneath the Surface, a concept EP about a young man growing up into adulthood and discovering a world that is filled with evil.
